London STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 9th October 2024

In our second event of the season, 495 excited student and graduate attendees got to network with 31 top employers representing diverse STEM-related fields, all under one roof. It was an exciting day of inspiration and new connections!

It was a great day to be back at one of our regular venues, Congress Centre in central London. Exhibitors enjoyed a networking lunch as excited students and graduates arrived.

Graduate Opportunities

Kicking off the day was the welcome from STEM Women, followed by event sponsors, Mizuho, who shared details of their opportunities for STEM graduates. This was followed by insight talks and a panel discussion with representatives from Thales and Gunvor Group. The panel discussion offered the audience a chance to put their questions to the speakers, with the panellists offering tips for overcoming imposter syndrome, making the most of professional communities for women, and the importance of mentorship.

Networking

Throughout the afternoon, attendees were able to connect with all 31 employers at their company stands in the exhibition area, finding out valuable information about graduate programmes and internships, and forging professional connections.

Later in the day, a second speaker session took place, with attendees able to hear from Southwestern Railway, Bird & Bird, Harbour Energy, & AWE. The talks gave the audience an insight into various career options, with the speakers sharing advice and learnings from their diverse career journeys.

Exhibitors expressed positive feedback after the event, with many commenting on the impact of being able to empower other women.
